Our Work

It's a small step for Matt's Place, but a big help for a local family who are dealing with a recent ALS diagnosis.

Matt met a local PAL (Person with ALS) at a support group meeting for ALS patients. He learned that she had recently been confined to a wheelchair, but her home had no ramp. Her husband was having to carry her up and down stairs from the car each time she went out, which wasn't easy on either of them.

Matt brought the story to the attention of the Matt's Place Foundation board, and the funds were approved to construct the ramp with the help of the fine people at T & C Ramps and Decks, from Spokane, who did an excellent job at an excellent price.

This is what we hope to be the first of many projects for the local community!

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

If anyone is going to beat ALS, it might as well be a marine!
